YOUR DONATION WILL HELP THE YOUNG PEOPLE WE SUPPORT MAKING THE TRANSITION TO INDEPENDENCE

Our mission is to prevent youth homelessness.

Your Own Place CIC supports 16-25 year olds across Norfolk and Suffolk to make great transitions to adult life.  We do this in a number of ways and your donation would be contributing to the best possible outcomes for young people.

  • Tenancy & Independent Living Skills (TILS) training in small groups and 1-2-1.  We cover budgeting, all aspects of money skills, housing options, tenancy rights and responsibilities and loads more.  We use lots of high quality resources and provide refreshments for young people too.
  • Employment Support.  We firmly believe that the best way of keeping your home is by having a job.  We support young people at any stage of the transition into work, including looking for better paid jobs, Supported Work Experience and just getting started.
  • Volunteer Tenancy Mentoring.  You can sign up for to make a real, tangible and lasting change by becoming a Volunteer Tenancy Mentor to a young person in transition in Norfolk or Suffolk.  You can read lots more here!

DONATE TO A YOUNG PERSON

TO RECEIVE VITAL HELP FROM THE NETWORK’S DIVERSE POOL OF PARTNERS TO NAVIGATE THE TRANSITION INTO INDEPENDENCE.

We all dream of having a safe and secure home.  Just somewhere to go back to at the end of the day with our things, that we feel pride in and that feels safe too!

It’s such an exciting time getting your own home.  But in the race and desire to make it a home, it is easy to become not just overwhelmed, but demotivated when everything costs so much.  The dawning realisation that you can’t afford curtains, a fridge or even a bed means that young people quickly lost heart in the dream.

This can spiral to not looking after their home and even losing it, as it doesn’t feel like a home or worth holding on to.

NOW, you can help them make it a home by investing in our young people through their Argos wish lists.  Find out what they think makes a home and help them to make it a reality that they hold on to with your help!
